Owl's Nest

Student Population: The Owl's Nest at Gretchen Everhart serves children with special needs from three to five years of age.

Class Size: There are three classes with approximately twleve children in each.

Goal: Children will increase their developmental level though play activities in a nurturing environment. Children participate in play activities that will help develop functioning across all areas including emotional, cognitive, social, fine motor, gross motor, and language. A nurturing and positive environment is emphasized.

Staff: Each class has one teacher, two instructional assistants, one foster grand-parent and volunteers.

Curriculum: Literacy Express/High Scope. Also used as part of the curriculum is Fluid Play.

Special Note: New Playground for Owl's Nest
The Owl's Nest at Gretchen Everhart School is planning to build a new Therapeutic Outdoor Learning Environment. The goal is to raise $136,000 overall for the project. Read more>>
