Change in School HoursEffective August 20th (the first day of the 2007-08 school year) the school day will be from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. This change in the school day will impact the before and after school SMILE program with those hours to be posted shortly. Everhart SongThanks to the wonderful talent of Music Therapy Intern Olivia Swedberg, Gretchen Everhart School has its own school song! Ms. Swedberg
talked to staff and students to find out what they liked best about our school. She then put pen to paper and came up with the song. Carving Out Our LegacyA famous tree was revived in Tallahassee. Very Special Arts (VSA) of Florida sponsored a tree carving at Gretchen Everhart School, skillfully crafted by local artist John Birch. Last year, the tree was removed from under the bedroom window of the Governor’s Mansion. Everhart was selected as one of the fortunate recipients of a portion of that tree. Carving Out Our Legacy - read a wonderful article written by our own Audra Burch, Speech-Language Pathologist about the addition of this very special owl sculpture to the grounds of Gretchen Everhart School. Also. check out the Tree Dedication Ceremony held on March 1st as well as Carving the Tree - In Pictures (thanks to Audra Burch for the pictures ;-).
